Art Competition for Young Artists

An exciting announcement has been made regarding the large-scale art competition titled "Art Project Connecting to the Future for Young Challengers." This initiative is a collaboration between Nanmono LLC and Shinnichi Kogyo Co., Ltd., aimed specifically at fostering young artistic talent. It offers a platform for emerging artists to present their creative endeavors and gain recognition.

Recently, the winners of the competition were declared, with one receiving the prestigious Grand Prize, while five others were awarded Excellence Prizes. The Grand Prize winner will have their work permanently displayed in Shinnichi Kogyo's art space at their headquarters as part of the company's 55th-anniversary celebrations. Additionally, the Grand Prize winner will receive a monetary award of 550,000 yen. The other prize recipients will also receive special gifts associated with each judge, which may include vouchers and opportunities for portfolio reviews or internships.

To celebrate the achievements of these talented individuals, a popup exhibition featuring the six award-winning works is set to take place in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, from August 26 to 31, 2025. This event will provide the public with an opportunity to view the creative output of promising young artists.

The competition received an impressive number of applications, totaling 30 works from 19 artists ranging from current art university students to those who have graduated within the last five years. The submissions went through a rigorous selection process that included initial portfolio reviews and personal interviews, leading to the final selection of winners.

• - Excellence Prize (Takiue Award): Takada Goshin (3rd year, Tama Art University, Oil Painting)
• - Excellence Prize (Kojima Award): Ueda Fuka (4th year, Musashino Art University, Japanese Painting)
• - Excellence Prize (Little Museum Award): Baba Hiroyuki (2023 graduate, Musashino Art University, Japanese Painting)
• - Excellence Prize (AYD Award): Teramae Arumi (graduating in March 2025, Tokyo University of the Arts, Craft Department)

The Grand Prize of 550,000 yen will cover the costs of creating the winning work. Each Excellence Prize winner will receive a gift, including a 10,000 yen voucher, as well as the chance to participate in exclusive activities such as priority access to exhibition planning, portfolio reviews, and internships.

To give the public a chance to experience the remarkable works firsthand, the popup exhibition will feature all six award-winning pieces. Held in a prominent location in Chuo Ward, Nihonbashi Kabutocho — an area that has recently gained attention due to community art-development efforts — the exhibition will also showcase related materials regarding the artworks.
