Riyadh Set to Host UNIDO 2025: A Future for Inclusive and Sustainable Industry

Riyadh Gears Up to Welcome the World at UNIDO 2025

In just two weeks, Riyadh will host the 21st session of the UNIDO General Conference, an essential global gathering focused on practical industrial policies. This significant event will take place from November 23 to 27, 2025, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre. The conference aims to converge ministers, business leaders, investors, and innovators under the theme "Harnessing the Power of Investments and Partnerships to Accelerate the SDGs."

A Strategic Focus on Inclusive Growth

Before the General Conference, a special ministerial conference aimed at the least developed countries (LDCMC11) will occur on November 22. This session will focus on investment, innovation, and transformative industrial policy. It serves as a crucial platform for translating dialogues into tangible outcomes, compact alliances, and actionable agreements intended to propel industrial advancement across both developed and emerging economies.

The five-day program of the General Conference will feature a collaborative format, guiding high-level strategic discussions towards practical applications. The agenda will include plenary sessions, ministerial roundtable talks, targeted solution dialogues, and interactive exhibitions. The main objective is to mobilize capital, scale advanced technologies, and forge cross-border partnerships that expedite sustainable and resilient industrialization worldwide. Special sectors for cooperation among businesses, between businesses and governments, and among governments will ensure that every gathering yields concrete results.

Timing: A Convergence of Global Impact

The global significance of the summit is amplified by its timing, occurring alongside the LDCMC11 ministerial conference just before the General Conference. Ministers attending can advance the implementation of UNIDO's strategy for least developed countries, particularly in areas such as technology transfer, value chain development, and capacity building. These efforts will aim to ensure that industrial transformations offer tangible benefits to the world's most vulnerable economies.

UNIDO and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are committed to assembling a strong coalition of member states, international organizations, leading figures from the private sector, the academic community, and civil society. This collaboration is set to foster meaningful dialogue and productive outcomes, aligning with global efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

UNIDO 2025 promises to be a significant milestone in reshaping the landscape of global industry, focusing on inclusivity and sustainability, critical for addressing modern challenges. With leaders from diverse backgrounds coming together, the conference intends to create a comprehensive strategy, ensuring no one is left behind in the journey towards a sustainable industrial future. The anticipation surrounding this event underscores its importance, as attendees and stakeholders alike recognize the value of collaboration in achieving common goals.
