Vinitaly.USA's Third Edition to Showcase Italian Wines in New York

Vinitaly.USA 2026: Celebrating Italian Wines in New York

On July 5, 2026, Veronafiere and Vinitaly reached a significant milestone as they prepared for the upcoming Vinitaly.USA, slated to take place in New York City on October 26-27. This third edition comes as part of the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of American independence. The occasion of this announcement took place aboard the historic Italian Navy training ship, the Amerigo Vespucci, docked at Pier 86 in New York City. This pivotal moment highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen the Italy-U.S. trade relationship in the wine sector, with support from the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).

Vinitaly, recognized globally as the premier trade fair for Italian wines, continues to establish the United States as a vital market, accounting for approximately 25% of Italian wine exports. During the New York event, nearly 40 carefully selected buyers from key markets across North America were introduced to the details of Vinitaly.USA. With 250 exhibitors confirming their participation, the event is poised to occupy its 118,000 square feet of exhibition space efficiently, reinforcing its position as an essential platform for Italian wineries eager to expand in the U.S. market.

Notable participants include esteemed Italian wine regions and appellations such as Asti DOCG, Brunello di Montalcino, Sicilia DOC, Prosecco DOC, and Vini dell'Elba. Additional regional collective exhibits from Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, and Sardinia have also been confirmed, along with a delegation of 95 wineries organized by ITA.

In an address during the presentation aboard the Amerigo Vespucci, Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere, noted the intensive efforts being made both in Italy and the U.S. as part of a comprehensive buyer recruitment initiative. The Northeast U.S. is emphasized as a strategic area, representing 19% of total Italian wine consumption by volume and 22% by value. Bricolo remarked, "In this challenging environment, we are working alongside public institutions to enhance economic diplomacy while assisting businesses. The U.S. market remains indispensable for us."

The agenda for Vinitaly.USA promises to be packed with enriching experiences for buyers, including masterclasses, tastings, and initiatives focused on wine tourism and market insights. The event will also highlight SolExpo, Veronafiere's exhibition dedicated to premium extra virgin olive oil, alongside the opportunity to indulge in authentic Italian cuisine, providing participants with a quintessential Made in Italy experience.

Prominent figures at the announcement included Erica Digiovancarlo from ITA and Stevie Kim, Managing Director of Vinitaly International, who shared insights and expressed excitement for the event. Following the presentation, attendees enjoyed tastings featuring exquisite wines from various consortia, including Asti DOCG, Brunello di Montalcino, and Prosecco DOC, showcasing the exclusive partners of Vinitaly.

Following the successful New York presentation, Veronafiere will continue its North American mission by traveling to Miami, Florida, on July 7 to hold an event at Macchialina, an acclaimed Italian restaurant. This program will serve to introduce Vinitaly.USA to an additional audience of distributors, buyers, and media professionals, along with a unique masterclass led by renowned sommeliers.

The Amerigo Vespucci World Tour, orchestrated by the Italian Ministry of Defence and the Italian Navy, along with the collaboration of various government entities, highlights Italy's commitment to maintaining and strengthening its international cultural and economic relationships. As Vinitaly.USA approaches, the anticipation for a successful showcase of Italian wines continues to build, promising captivating experiences for all attendees.

This year's Vinitaly.USA is expected to not only celebrate the diversity and quality of Italian wines but further enhance bilateral trade relations through immersive experiences and valuable networking opportunities.
