Okayama University Hosts Data Sharing and Open Science Exchange Meeting with Osaka University

Overview of the Exchange Meeting



On August 24, 2025, Okayama University, located in Okayama City, held a critical exchange meeting focused on data sharing, open access (OA), and open science (OS), marking this as part of their initiative for academic collaboration and innovation. The meeting took place in the 50th Anniversary Hall of the Tsushima campus and gathered over 100 participants, including prominent professors from Osaka University and key staff members from Okayama University.

The event began with a statement from Takashi Hatanaka, a senior URA (University Research Administrator) at Okayama University, who emphasized the importance of advancing their efforts in digital transformation (DX), artificial intelligence (AI), remote access, and automation. Hatanaka stated that this meeting aims to create a shared understanding of the current challenges related to data sharing and to foster collective action.
