On April 22, 2025, the North Island Credit Union Foundation celebrated the achievements of ten students from San Diego County, recognizing their hard work and commitment to education with annual scholarships. Each scholar was awarded $1,000 to support their college education as part of the Foundation's dedication to enhancing educational opportunities in the community.

The ceremony held at North Island Credit Union honored students who excel not only academically but also through their commitment to community service. Marvel Ford, the president of the Foundation, expressed pride in the recipients, noting their efforts in balancing education with giving back to their communities. "These students represent the bright future of our communities, and we're honored to support them as they take the next steps in their academic journeys," she stated.

  • - Charlotte Lourey, Valhalla High School
  • - Annelise Mages, San Diego High School
  • - Taylor Miller, Mar Vista High School
  • - Dylan Nasori, Coronado High School

This program, established in 2005, acknowledges the outstanding efforts of students who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to pursue college education. Since its inception, it has awarded over $455,000 in scholarships to deserving students across multiple counties, including San Diego, Riverside, Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura.

The North Island Credit Union Foundation operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, designed to uplift financial literacy and community engagement. Recognized for its commitment to community betterment, the Foundation directs 100% of donations back into programs supporting local initiatives. With California Credit Union covering all administrative expenses, the Foundation maximizes its community impact.
