On May 10, 2025, the much-anticipated event "Oshale Japan presents THE ASAKUSA SHOW PARADE" will unfold in Asakusa, a place where the rich history of Edo gracefully meets the contemporary energy of Reiwa. Following the success of February's inaugural parade, which left attendees mesmerized, this second installment promises an even more colorful and engaging experience.
The parade will showcase a dazzling variety of performances, from traditional Japanese dance and live music to Edo-era theatrical performances. Spectacular acts like the
Oiran Dōchū (procession of courtesans) will lead the way, featuring both stunning oiran dressed in exquisite kimonos and young children, who will accompany them as kamuro (young attendants), to transport the audience back to the Edo period.
In addition to the vibrant parade, visitors can partake in a unique sake tasting event featuring hidden gems from Niigata. This experience promises a delightful journey through the authentic flavors of local sake while discovering the unmatched culinary richness of Niigata's rice culture.
