Facial Recognition Technology: Revolutionizing Living at Leaf City Ichikawa Residence

Introduction of FreeiD at Leaf City Ichikawa Residence

DXYZ Corporation has made waves by integrating its cutting-edge facial recognition platform, FreeiD, into the newly developed Leaf City Ichikawa Residence property by Keiyo Gas. Located in Ichikawa, Chiba, this high-rise rental complex is now set to redefine modern living experiences through advanced technology. As a milestone for DXYZ, this marks the company's debut utilizing FreeiD in a Chiba rental house, thus expanding its service offerings in the region.

Development of Leaf City Ichikawa

Leaf City Ichikawa is part of a comprehensive plan led by Keiyo Gas to create a lush urban environment that harmonizes with nature. Designed as a multi-use development on the former Keiyo Gas factory site, the Leaf City project encompasses approximately 3.7 hectares, promising a vibrant community with a high quality of life. The Leaf City Ichikawa Residence features nine stories and consists of 235 rental units, conveniently positioned just a six-minute walk from JR Ichikawa Station.

In aligning with sustainable practices, the residence is designed with superior insulation and energy-saving features, earning it the ZEH-M Oriented designation. This certification reflects its commitment to reducing energy consumption by at least 20%, a crucial step toward a decarbonized society. Additional green initiatives include the supply of non-fossil electric power to common areas, installation of solar panels, and battery storage systems, ensuring energy supplies during blackouts.

Features of FreeiD Integration

DXYZ has strategically implemented the FreeiD platform at six key access points throughout the Leaf City Ichikawa Residence. These locations include two entrances, delivery boxes, waste disposal areas, the bicycle parking entrance, and a party room. This setup not only enhances security but also increases the convenience of everyday life for residents, allowing them to enter and exit without the need for physical keys. The integration of FreeiD allows residents to reserve the party room with ease, as facial recognition technology streamlines access, reinforcing the message that modern living can be both secure and user-friendly.

DXYZ's vision of 'living with just a face' is exemplified through this property, ensuring that even with arms full of groceries or other items, residents can easily access their homes and community amenities without hassle.

Exploring FreeiD

The FreeiD platform connects individuals to their daily activities—living, working, and leisure—by integrating facial recognition technology into their lifestyles. By allowing residents to register their faces just once, they can seamlessly access their homes, conduct payments, and verify their identities—all without needing traditional identification or keys. This ground-breaking service promises to make day-to-day interactions effortless and secure.

Through FreeiD, DXYZ has initiated a significant shift in the housing sector, spearheading the development of Japan's first fully facial recognition-based residence, where traditional locks and keys become a thing of the past. As of April 2025, the FreeiD system will have been deployed in 208 completed properties across the nation, extending its services beyond residential buildings to offices, daycare facilities, golf courses, and theme parks.
