Mutual of America Foundation Celebrates 2024 Community Partnership Award Winners
The Mutual of America Foundation has proudly revealed the recipients of the 2024 Community Partnership Award, commemorating the 29th anniversary of this esteemed national competition. This year’s awards honor six remarkable nonprofit organizations that have made significant contributions in collaboration with public, private, and other social sector entities.
Stephen Rich, Chairman, CEO, and President of Mutual of America Financial Group, expressed, "We are excited to support and recognize the winning organizations of the 2024 Community Partnership Award. Their efforts to create effective and sustainable solutions for those in need exemplify the values that guide our mission."
This prestigious award includes various honors, particularly the Thomas J. Moran Award, which recognizes the top program nationally. The distinguished $100,000 prize and a documentary video were awarded to Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison, based in Ossining, New York. Hudson Link aims to tackle the challenges faced by currently and formerly incarcerated individuals in accessing higher education. Through partnerships with local colleges and correctional facilities, they provide resources and support that help participants transform their lives.
Sean Pica, Executive Director of Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison, stated, "Winning the Mutual of America 2024 Community Partnership Award is invaluable to us. Our organization has always prioritized the importance of collaboration in serving incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. The continued support from Mutual of America will allow us to showcase the substantial impact we have on the lives we touch."
The Frances R. Hesselbein Award, honoring initiatives that address social challenges across multiple communities or that show a capacity for replication in different locales, was awarded to the Community Health program of iFoster, Inc., located in Truckee, California.
Additionally, four other organizations were honored with Social Impact Awards for their significant contributions. The recipients are:
- - Civic Commons Black Home Initiative (Seattle Foundation, Seattle, WA)
- - The TN Center for Decision-Making Support (The Arc TN, Nashville, TN)
- - St. Jude Centers - Permanent Supportive Housing for the Homeless (Catholic Charities of Dallas, Inc., Dallas, TX)
