Tokyo's First Nighttime Tourism Forum
In an exciting initiative to boost tourism appeal, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is set to host the first-ever Nighttime Tourism Forum. This event aims to attract travelers by promoting various nighttime activities and experiences that Tokyo has to offer. The forum will take place on
August 25, 2025, from
4:00 PM to
6:30 PM at the Tokyo International Forum Hall B5, located in Chiyoda Ward, Marunouchi.
The forum's primary focus is to discuss the current measures being undertaken across different Tokyo areas regarding nighttime tourism, as well as explore future possibilities. Participants will have a chance to network with peers, stakeholders, and industry leaders, fostering collaboration and sharing of ideas essential for enhancing the nighttime economy in Tokyo.
Event Schedule
The forum will have two parts:
1.
Speeches & Panel Discussion (4:00 PM - 5:10 PM)

Keynote Speech: “Potential and Challenges of Nighttime Tourism in Tokyo” delivered by Mr. Tomoe Makino, representative director of the Meta Tourism Promotion Organization.

Panel Discussion: Featuring insights on current efforts and future perspectives in nighttime tourism with notable panelists:
- Mr. Takahiro Saito, representative director of the Nighttime Economy Promotion Council.
- Mr. Hiroyuki Fusayasu, CEO of ORIGINAL Inc. and Timeout Tokyo.
- Representatives from Asakusa Rokku Area Management Association, Takeshiba Area Management, and Higashiginza Area Management.
2.
Networking Session (5:30 PM - 6:30 PM)
Participants will have the opportunity to mingle with speakers and fellow attendees, discussing various initiatives related to nighttime tourism. This session aims to strengthen community bonds and encourage the sharing of promising nighttime tourism strategies throughout the Tokyo area, while also introducing the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's strategies in this sector.
