Employment Trends in October 2025: A Detailed Analysis

In October 2025, Frog Company, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has unveiled a detailed analysis titled "October 2025 Job Category Wage Growth Ranking." This report is based on extensive data collected from nine major job posting platforms, categorizing employment modes into part-time, temporary, and full-time positions.

Overview of Wage Trends

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has reported a nationwide weighted average minimum wage of 1,121 yen, reflecting a significant increase of 66 yen from the previous year—the largest hike since the introduction of the minimum wage standard in 1978. As of October, various prefectures have begun enforcing the new minimum wage, with some areas already implementing it and others scheduled to follow suit in November. This sets the stage for the latest insights into employment trends and wage growth.

Part-Time Employment Insights

For part-time workers, the analysis showcased a mixed performance in wage growth, with fluctuations ranging from a decrease of -1.41% to an impressive increase of +12.64%. The leading position in the wage growth ranking for part-time jobs was occupied by the category "Media/Events/Entertainment/Campaigns," which saw an increase of 156 yen, translating to a growth rate of +12.64%.

Examining the wage trends over the past year, there has been a notable upward movement in the average hourly wage for the "Media/Events/Entertainment/Campaigns" sector due to multiple companies posting high-paying job offers for event staff. In contrast, the "Amusement" sector exhibited a stagnant trend, oscillating between -1.5% and +2.5% in its growth rate.

Full-Time Employment Trends

The report also detailed the wage growth rankings for full-time employment positions. The top three industries here included:
