Compass Surgical Partners Launches the First Outpatient Catheterization Lab in Northwest Florida
In a significant advancement for healthcare in the Florida Panhandle, Compass Surgical Partners has partnered with local medical professionals to establish the
Cardiovascular Surgical Institute of Northwest Florida. This state-of-the-art outpatient facility, located in
Panama City, is poised to transform the way cardiovascular care is delivered in the region.
Spanning over
8,000 square feet, the new institute is dedicated to interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and vascular surgery procedures. As the only outpatient catheterization lab within a
100-mile radius, this facility is set to provide safe, affordable, and high-quality cardiovascular and vascular surgery options outside of a traditional hospital setting.
"This is a major leap forward for cardiovascular care in the Florida Panhandle," remarked
Dr. Amir R. Haghighat, an interventional cardiologist and partner in this venture. He emphasized the importance of bringing high-quality, lower-cost care closer to home for the community. The facility commenced its operations with its first cases just last month, reflecting a swift response to the growing demand for accessible healthcare services.
Advanced Facilities and Services Offered
The Cardiovascular ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) is equipped with two fully operational catheterization labs featuring
Philips Angio imaging systems. This advanced technology enables a variety of procedures, encompassing diagnostic and interventional coronary interventions, cardiac device implants, atrial fibrillation ablations, peripheral artery interventions, and dialysis access procedures.
Plans are underway to obtain accreditation from the
Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), ensuring that the center meets the highest standards of care and operational excellence.
A Growing Need for Cardiovascular Procedures
The demand for outpatient cardiovascular services has been on the rise, and Compass Surgical Partners is proud to be at the forefront of this transformative movement. According to
Scott Bacon, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Compass, the growth of cardiovascular procedures represents one of the fastest expanding segments in the ASC sector. "We are excited to collaborate with physician partners to create centers that deliver tangible benefits to patients," he noted, highlighting the alignment of modern practices with the operational preferences of today’s interventional cardiologists and vascular surgeons.
