A Delegation from China Explores Japan’s Elderly Care Services

On June 23, 2025, the For You Association, a social welfare organization based in Setagaya, Tokyo, welcomed a delegation of 17 members from the Chongqing Exhibition Industry Association (CQCEIA) to visit its special nursing home, Tsurumaki Home. This visit aimed to introduce the advances of elderly welfare services in Japan to officials in China, especially as the country faces rapid aging. The CQCEIA had officially approached the For You Association to learn about Japan’s leading care and welfare models.

Introduction to Japan's Leading Welfare Models

The day began with exchanging business cards and introductions, followed by an overview of the For You Association's mission, business operations, and details about Tsurumaki Home, which includes the small-scale multifunctional nursing facility, Yukkuri. During the presentations, the delegation learned about the design philosophy of the facility, the care delivery system, staff organization, and real-life examples of ICT usage in caregiving. This sparked a lively question and answer session, highlighting the delegation's keen interest in Japan's community-oriented welfare models and discussions on practical applications.

Moreover, the translation during the visit was managed by a Chinese nationality care supervisor and another multilingual staff member from the For You Association. Their practical experience in the field facilitated a deeper understanding beyond cultural and system differences, giving a strong impression of the diverse and specialized talent within the For You Association.

CQCEIA: A Key Player in China's MICE Industry

The Chongqing Exhibition Industry Association (CQCEIA), which sent the delegation, is a non-profit organization established in 2003. It aims to promote the development of the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) sector, offering networking and business support from its base in Chongqing. It comprises various members, including exhibition hosting companies and educational institutions, actively striving to energize the local economy and foster international collaboration.
