TXOne Networks Launches Stellar Discover

TXOne Networks, headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, recently announced the release of the preview version of its innovative product, Stellar Discover, aimed at improving visibility and vulnerability assessment in operational technology (OT) environments without adversely affecting system operations.

Stellar Discover stands out as a lightweight endpoint sensor designed to address challenges in OT environments where traditional methods have struggled. Its primary function is to visualize asset information and assess security risks while minimizing any impact on the operational systems in use. This new solution strengthens the initial phases of TXOne's OT security measures by providing a foundational platform for asset tracking, risk evaluation, and gradually enabling proactive defense mechanisms.

Furthermore, when combined with network-based visualization and assessment tools like SenninRecon and TXOne Edge, organizations will be able to obtain a comprehensive understanding of their OT environment’s security posture.

The lack of endpoint visibility has been a long-standing challenge in OT settings. Traditional network-based methods might identify assets based on communication behaviors, but they fall short in providing detailed information about operating software, inherent vulnerabilities, and the presence of malware. Stellar Discover is specifically designed to overcome these limitations by offering enhanced visibility into endpoint data.

One of the key advantages of Stellar Discover is its user-space operation, eliminating the need for kernel access, driver installation, or administrative privileges. This design greatly reduces the risks associated with affecting system stability. The installation process is quick and straightforward, taking approximately one minute per device, without requiring system restarts or any special configurations. Uninstallation is equally rapid and hassle-free.

After its installation, the system will not only gather inventory data on devices and software but also facilitate TXOne's proprietary VSAR scoring for vulnerability detection, monitor USB usage, log failed login attempts, and identify malware presences. Importantly, it is designed as a detection-only solution, refraining from blocking or isolating endpoints or making configuration changes. The gathered information is accessible through TXOne's management console and is presented in a reporting format, assisting users in understanding asset statuses, the severity of vulnerabilities, and recommended responses.

Terence Liu, CEO of TXOne Networks, emphasized the significance of accurate assessment in OT environments, stating, “Many OT environments still have endpoints that are difficult to track, update, and protect. Understanding the current state accurately is crucial. Stellar Discover supports that initial step while minimizing operational impacts.”

Currently, the preview version of Stellar Discover is available through TXOne and its partner companies, while the official version is projected to be launched in May 2026.
