Newmo Launches Toranomon Kotsu in Tokyo

In a significant move aimed at expanding its taxi services within the Tokyo area, Newmo Co., Ltd. has officially announced the establishment of a new taxi company named Toranomon Kotsu. Founded by Naoki Aoyagi, CEO of Newmo, the company plans to advance its mobility services within the metropolitan area.

Along with the company’s establishment, a new operational base, the Toranomon Kotsu Shinagawa Office, is set to open in August 2026. The official website has gone live and recruitment for drivers has commenced.

About Toranomon Kotsu

Newmo's mission, to make regions more colorful through mobility, drives its endeavors in taxi services, workforce solutions, and autonomous taxi operations. Since its inception in January 2024, Newmo has integrated five taxi companies into its group, supporting local transportation with about 1,400 vehicles and over 2,400 employees across Osaka, Kanagawa, Tokyo, and Okinawa.

This urban center is expected to become an ideal model showcasing efficient dispatching and high-quality service, making significant contributions to the local taxi market. The office is scheduled to commence operations in August 2026.

Recruitment of Opening Drivers and Staff

Beginning today, the recruitment process for opening drivers and staff has officially started. Newmo believes that a framework allowing drivers to focus on providing ‘services that only people can deliver’ enhances the quality of transportation. By minimizing operational burdens through AI tools and fostering a flat organizational structure unique to the new office, Newmo is committed to creating a workplace conducive to concentrated efforts on service delivery.
