First Federal Bank Makes Generous Donation to Support One More Child's Mission

First Federal Bank's Significant Contribution

On April 8, 2025, First Federal Bank, based in Live Oak, Florida, announced a remarkable donation of $100,000 to One More Child. This gesture is part of the Strong Families Tax Credit program, which enables businesses to receive a direct tax credit up to a specified limit for supporting specific charitable organizations.

Last week, a dedicated team from First Federal Bank visited One More Child's Jacksonville campus, not only to present the donation but also to deliver generous boxes of diapers collected by the bank’s employees. This visit emphasized the bank's commitment to helping the most vulnerable in society, especially children and struggling families.

Dr. Leon Battle, the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at One More Child, expressed heartfelt gratitude for First Federal's partnership. He stated, “This generous donation will support our mission to permanently break the cycle of generational poverty and bring hope to those who are hurting.”

The donation aligns perfectly with One More Child's efforts. In 2023, this impactful organization helped over 250,259 children and individuals and provided more than 19 million meals across the globe. Their initiatives focus on serving foster children, hungry families, single mothers, and survivors of human trafficking, showcasing a commitment to bettering the lives of those in need.

During the visit, First Federal Bank’s leadership also explored the ongoing construction of One More Child’s Jacksonville Compassion Center. This center aims to become a multi-functional hub, offering not just essential goods like food and clothing, but also critical services to impoverished families in the region.

John Medina, the President and CEO of First Federal Bank, emphasized the bank's dedication to community involvement, noting, “We are excited to partner with One More Child as we positively impact the lives of so many children and families in need.”

Established in 2021, the Strong Families Tax Credit program is instrumental in supporting eligible charities that work on child welfare and overall well-being. One More Child operates in 26 states and 19 countries, expanding its outreach to cater to the needs of the most vulnerable populations including those grappling with food insecurity and poverty.

The contribution received through this tax program equips One More Child with vital resources to reach more children and support struggling families. First Federal Bank, with over $3.9 billion in assets, is not just a bank; it's a community-oriented institution with a track record of exceptional customer service and financial innovation. With numerous accolades, including being named by Newsweek as the Best Small Bank in Florida for four years in a row, First Federal’s commitment to community welfare is evident.

One More Child’s impactful services and First Federal Bank’s generous support demonstrate a powerful partnership aimed at breaking cycles of poverty and fostering hope among families in crisis. Their joint efforts illustrate the importance of corporate responsibility and community engagement in driving meaningful change.
