Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa: A New Sustainable Destination
The Seibu Group is set to unveil a new eco-friendly tourist destination,
Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa, which is scheduled to grand open on
June 13, 2026. This park, situated in
Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, aims to provide visitors with immersive agricultural experiences, focusing on sustainable practices and community engagement.
A Unique Farming Experience
At Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa, visitors can partake in a
blueberry picking and unlimited eating experience. This program will allow guests of all ages to pick their own blueberries from an impressive selection of
25 varieties and 1,100 plants.
Beginning in June, various types of blueberries will come into season, enabling visitors to taste and compare the flavors until mid-August. Additionally, blueberries can be purchased to take home for a nominal fee.
Sustainable Agriculture Practices
The park incorporates the innovative concept of
solar-sharing into its farming practices. This method merges traditional agriculture with solar energy production, with crops cultivated underneath solar panels. The energy produced is shared with local public facilities through Tokorozawa Mirai Denryoku, significantly contributing to the city’s goals for a decarbonized community and local energy production.
In collaboration with Mitsubishi HC Capital Energy, Seibu Agri has initiated this groundbreaking project, effectively transforming
1.7 hectares of land into a mixed-use space that fosters both food cultivation and renewable energy generation.
An Educational Haven
Beyond blueberry picking, Seibu Agri Park Tokorozawa will host educational programs that allow visitors to learn about plants and the agricultural ecosystem. Guests can meet two goats that help with weeding, as well as honeybees that aid in pollination. Additionally, the park will operate seasonal vegetable sales and various family-friendly activities throughout its open period.
