A New Era of Local Engagement: Swallow Base
Hibiya Kadan Group has recently inaugurated a new company, Lila, which focuses on regional revitalization, aiming to spawn a new kind of societal connection in Japan. This initiative was announced by the group's president, Hiroaki Miyajima, and marked an exciting step towards blending tourism and long-term residency in Japan’s remarkable local areas.
About Lila and Swallow Base
Lila, headquartered in Naha, Okinawa, operates as a subsidiary of Innovation Partners, which is also part of the Hibiya Kadan Group. The primary objective of Lila is to cultivate a “relationship-building population”—individuals who engage with local cultures and communities on a deeper level than just casual tourism. The platform that Lila has launched is called Swallow Base, a unique service introduced on May 28, coinciding with the symbolic “Go-Tsubame Day.”
Swallow Base serves as an innovative platform designed to connect long-term stayers, including digital nomads from across the globe, with Japan's picturesque regions, specifically targeting areas like Izu and Ureshino.
The Vision
The vision of Swallow Base is to change the perception of regional visits from merely a transient experience to a home away from home. The company emphasizes a cycle of mutual growth between visitors and locals, transcending conventional tourism and migration.
