Summer Special Event Report at Mita Seimenjo
Mita Seimenjo, a well-known tsukemen specialty shop operated by MP Kitchen Holdings, has been actively engaging in food education. On July 27-28 in Tokyo and August 8-9 in Osaka, they hosted a unique event called the "Kids' Experience at Mita Seimenjo Summer Special Edition." On the third Sunday of every month, they dedicate a day to children by offering half-priced noodle dishes, fostering an environment of learning and fun around food.
The main theme of this event was "Mita Seimenjo, where family memories are made." Children had the chance to experience a real restaurant environment, learning the joy of food and the spirit of hospitality. They donned special event T-shirts, which were given as gifts, and engaged in various tasks like taking orders, preparing toppings, and serving customers, immersing themselves in the daily operations of the restaurant.
This hands-on experience was complemented by a noodle-making challenge, where kids played with noodles and learned about the process of making them. Each participant received a special workbook titled "Mita Drill," which included pages for drawing and reviewing what they had learned that day. The event concluded with a group photo, capturing the joyous moments shared by the families.
Mita Seimenjo's Unique Approach to Food Education
Mita Seimenjo strives to deliver the message of the importance and happiness that comes from food through its unique educational initiative, known as “Kids’ Mita Seimenjo.” On the third Sunday of each month, children under elementary school age can enjoy discounted prices on selected dishes like tsukemen and chuka soba, encouraging them to share the experience with their parents or to enjoy a full portion by themselves.
Since opening its first location in Minato, Tokyo, in 2008, Mita Seimenjo has expanded to 50 locations across the country as of June 2025, establishing itself as a leading tsukemen specialty shop. They pride themselves on being ambassadors of tsukemen, offering a signature dish of “Rich Pork Bone and Seafood Tsukemen” along with seasonal limited-time options. Furthermore, their menu includes well-loved side dishes, with their fried chicken winning the gold award at the 11th Karaage Grand Prix in the eastern Japan soy sauce category.
In addition to their restaurant operations, Mita Seimenjo is actively engaging with customers through online sales, YouTube content creation, and the establishment of a delivery service called “Demise Mita Seimenjo.” They continuously strive to make tsukemen more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
