Free Brain Health Management App 'Hanashiten' Launched for Residents of Sumida City

Free Brain Health Management App 'Hanashiten' Offered in Sumida

In an exciting initiative, the Sumida ward in Tokyo has teamed up with IGSA, a company based in Bunkyo City, to provide a cutting-edge brain health management app named 'Hanashiten'. This free service is specifically targeted at residents aged 50 to 70, aiming to facilitate better brain health through simple and engaging methods.

What is 'Hanashiten'?

'Hanashiten' leverages voice technology to assess brain health in just two minutes. Users can speak into their smartphones, and the app will analyze their health status based on clinical data collected from collaborative research with the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology. This initiative is part of a support project for prototype verification conducted in association with Chiba University's Center for Preventive Medicine, ensuring that the app is both user-friendly and effective.

Following the assessment, the app offers recommendations for lifestyle adjustments that promote better brain health, integrating thrusts from various local initiatives such as preventive care programs. The focus is on community well-being, helping residents to adopt healthier habits and prevent potential health concerns before they escalate.

Long-Term Benefits

Research suggests that brain health issues accumulate over a decade or two, making it vital to detect slight yet significant changes in cognitive function. 'Hanashiten' is designed to be simple and effective, minimizing any learning curve and allowing for accurate repeated measurements. This ensures that users can easily notice fine changes in their brain health, thus averting larger health problems in the future.

Sumida ward is proud to be the pioneer in rolling out the 'Hanashiten' app nationally. Plans are afoot to harness its capabilities in the management and assessment of preventive care activities, aiming to broaden the age demographics engaged in such initiatives.

How to Access 'Hanashiten'

To get started with the 'Hanashiten' app, Sumida residents can register for free via the official website: Hanashiten Official Site. For more detailed operational guidance, users can watch instructional videos available on the site - Hanashiten User Guide Video and Hanashiten Introduction Video.

Additionally, hands-on experience sessions are being held at various locations across the ward, including during the 'Frailty Prevention Festival in Sumida' on September 13 at Riverside Hall and at the 'Hanashiten Experience Booth' in CAMPUS COMMON within the Sumida Satellite Campus of Chiba University, which operates periodically.
