Seminar for SMEs Entering the Aerospace Sector



The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, in collaboration with the Tokyo Small and Medium Enterprises Support Center, is excited to announce a seminar and networking event. This event is targeted at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups looking to enter or expand their presence in the aerospace industry, a sector projected to experience significant growth in the coming years.

Part 1: Seminar (1:35 PM - 3:15 PM)

1. New Trends in Space Development and Targets in Space Business
Speaker: Shinichi Nakasuka, Professor at Ritsumeikan University
- An exploration of the latest developments in space and potential areas for business expansion.

2. Small Satellite Technology and Applications in Space Business
Speaker: Takashi Nagashima, Co-founder and Co-CTO of Axelspace Corporation
- Insights into the technology driving small satellite capabilities and its relevance in the industry.

3. Current Status and Future of the Aircraft Industry: Perspectives for SMEs
Speaker: Yukio Ikawa, Project Director at All Nippon Airways Trading Co., Ltd.
- Discussion on market dynamics and strategies for SMEs looking to penetrate the aircraft sector.

Part 2: Business Overview (3:20 PM - 3:50 PM)

Profiles of the Seminar Speakers



Shinichi Nakasuka


A professor at Ritsumeikan University, Nakasuka holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Tokyo and has been a pioneer in the earth observation satellite field. He contributed to the development and launch of 16 ultra-small satellites, including the world's first CubeSat. Nakasuka's expertise spans intelligent autonomous systems in space and he has significantly contributed to global space education and ventures.

Takashi Nagashima


With experience at the University of Tokyo, Nagashima was part of the team that developed the first CubeSat. He co-founded Axelspace Corporation in 2008 and has since led numerous satellite projects focusing on engineering and technological roadmaps. Currently, he serves as the Co-CTO responsible for satellite technology.

Yukio Ikawa


Ikawa has extensive experience in the aircraft maintenance sector, working with All Nippon Airways. He has played a key role in the technical analysis and research of aviation operations and maintenance and is currently engaged in aircraft parts development and support initiatives at All Nippon Airways Trading.
