Caroline Theodoridis Joins First Reserve as Director of Capital Formation and Investor Relations
In a strategic move to bolster its investor relations and fundraising efforts, First Reserve has appointed Caroline Theodoridis as the Director of Capital Formation and Investor Relations. This announcement reflects First Reserve’s commitment to enhancing its operations and deepening its connections with a growing base of investors. Caroline will work closely with Todd Tomlin, the Managing Director and Head of Capital Formation and Strategy, as well as other leadership figures at First Reserve.
A Rich Background in Private Equity
Caroline Theodoridis is not new to the private equity arena. She began her career at First Reserve in 2018, serving as the Vice President of Marketing and Investor Relations until 2021. During her tenure, she played a critical role in shaping the firm's strategy and outreach to investors. Her experience extends beyond First Reserve; she spent four years in Investor Relations at Gotham Asset Management, a well-known hedge fund based in New York. Prior to that, Caroline built her expertise in asset-backed bond sales while working at RBS Securities.
After her initial stint at First Reserve, Caroline held the position of Vice President of Investor Relations at Sun Capital Partners, a global private equity firm. Most recently, she contributed to the field of investor relations at iCapital, a financial technology company known for integrating alternative investment strategies into client portfolios.
Strengthening Investor Relations
The First Reserve Managing Partners expressed their excitement about Caroline’s return. They highlighted that her extensive industry expertise and familiarity with First Reserve’s operations and investors would be instrumental in enhancing the firm's capital formation and investor relations capabilities. They noted that this appointment comes at a pivotal time, as the firm is keen on leveraging the myriad opportunities available across its strategic areas.
In her own words, Caroline expressed her enthusiasm about rejoining First Reserve, saying, "I look forward to rejoining First Reserve and contributing to the next chapter of the firm's growth. The opportunity to work alongside this talented team and drive meaningful results for investors is something I am truly excited about. I'm committed to serving our clients with the same rigor, partnership, and excellence that define First Reserve."
Todd Tomlin, who took on the role to lead the firm's capital formation activity in early 2024, commented on the importance of working with Caroline. He mentioned that their collaboration would significantly enhance engagement with investors, allowing them to present primary, co-invest and sighted asset opportunities that align with the investors' objectives.
