Major Overhaul: The Whisky Festival 2026 Set to Dazzle Tokyo Enthusiasts

Whisky Festival 2026 in Tokyo: A Major Overhaul

The Whisky Festival 2026 is set to enchant whiskey enthusiasts with a grand overhaul this coming November. Organized by the Whisky Culture Research Institute under the leadership of Takashi Tsuchiya, this large-scale tasting event will take place on November 6 and 7 at the newly chosen venue, the Tokyo International Forum located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. The renovation comes with enhanced access to the venue and an exciting new format, ensuring that attendees have a unique experience.

On November 6, the event kicks off with Premium Night, running from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, where attendees can engage in special talk shows featuring industry luminaries. Following this, on November 7, the festival will host two separate sessions: the first part from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and the second part from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Over these two days, participants will have the chance to enjoy various tasting seminars led by influential blenders from Japan’s whiskey industry, among other highlights.

Both days will feature booths showcasing not only whiskey and gin tastings but also the opportunity to purchase bottles and merchandise. One of the standout attractions of the festival is the direct interaction with producers, helping to truly enrich the attendee experience.

All sessions will be limited to 2,200 attendees, and tickets for the event will be available starting late August, thanks to the strict capacity implemented to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. Importantly, the event is open to general enthusiasts, not just industry professionals or bartenders, fostering a broader appreciation of whiskey culture.

What to Expect

In addition to tastings, the festival will also feature exclusive seminars. Notably, five unique tasting seminars with renowned blenders will take place on November 7. Details of each seminar will be available soon on the official website and social media channels. Make sure to secure your prior admission ticket for the respective sessions to participate in the seminars, which will be available for purchase once your entry has been confirmed.

On November 6, along with the Premium Night festivities, guests can look forward to talks led by Takashi Tsuchiya, the head of the Whisky Culture Research Institute, who will be joined by a special guest. More information about the guest and the exact schedule will be released closer to the date.

The festival will see participation from over 100 distilleries and companies showcasing an impressive variety of whiskeys, some identifiable by their unique characteristics and flavors. With approximately 80 to 100 companies slated to present their brands, attendees will have the chance to taste a broad range of spirits, food pairings, and more.
