Sungrow and ENEVO Group Initiate 1GWh Energy Storage Collaboration for Romania's Renewable Future

Sungrow Partners with ENEVO Group for a Major Energy Storage Project in Romania

In a significant move for renewable energy advancement, Sungrow, renowned as a leading provider of PV inverters and energy storage systems, has formed a groundbreaking partnership with ENEVO Group, a prominent energy solutions company in Romania. The collaboration marks a pivotal step towards enhancing Romania's energy infrastructure through a robust energy storage solution totaling 1 gigawatt-hour (GWh).

The agreement, which is set to support Romania's transition towards renewable energy sources, signifies Sungrow's commitment to delivering cutting-edge storage technology. The initial phase of this ambitious project encompasses the deployment of 440 MWh of energy storage systems, with plans for delivery before December 2026. Following this, an additional 560 MWh will be rolled out, collectively achieving an impressive capacity of over 1GWh.

A key feature of all installations is Sungrow's award-winning PowerTitan 2.0 Liquid Cooled Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), recognized for its capability to support large-scale grid operations and facilitate renewable energy integration. This technology not only addresses the rising demand for efficient energy storage across Europe but also reinforces Sungrow's leadership position in providing advanced, reliable, and fully supported energy storage solutions.

The Importance of Collaboration

Radu Brașoveanu, CTO and co-founder of ENEVO Group, expressed the importance of strategic partnerships in driving innovation. He stated, "Great partnerships begin with a shared vision, common ambition, and a clear understanding of the market's direction. Our collaboration with Sungrow began in the solar sector and has transitioned into broader strategic partnerships, exemplified through this 1 GWh agreement. Together, we are advancing the integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with renewable generation, enhancing ENEVO's goal of becoming a leader in large-scale storage solutions in the region."

The confidence placed in Sungrow's capabilities is further emphasized by James Li, Vice President of Sungrow Europe, who stated, "The trust that our partners place in Sungrow is at the heart of our continued growth. We are truly honored to collaborate with ENEVO Group on this landmark project in Romania, and our commitment to delivering unparalleled customer support at every stage ensures long-term project viability and resource security for our partners."

Expanding Footprint in Europe

This partnership not only demonstrates Sungrow's dedication to advancing Romania's energy transition but also solidifies its stature as the number one bankable company in PV, energy storage systems (ESS), and power conversion systems (PCS) globally as ranked by BloombergNEF. The company's established reputation is built on successful ventures across various European markets, including significant projects in the UK, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Cyprus, and Bulgaria, highlighting the reliability and effectiveness of Sungrow's technology and local operational support.
