A Strong Background in Tourism Development
Originating from Manchester, Tennessee, Amanda McGowan has an impressive track record in the tourism industry. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee Southern, she further expanded her qualifications by achieving an MBA in 2023. Her educational background, combined with extensive experience in the field, equips her with the necessary skills to influence tourism strategies effectively.
Prior to her role at the South Central Tennessee Tourism Association (SCTTA), McGowan spent over two years at the Giles County Chamber of Commerce. During this time, she aided in promoting the Visit Pulaski tourism brand and was integral to the Historic Downtown Pulaski Main Street Program—efforts that enhanced local economies through tourism and development initiatives.

In her current position as Director of Operations at SCTTA, McGowan leads a tourism partnership program that collaborates with various small businesses, attractions, and local organizations.
