CANEUS and Maharashtra Government: A Historic Partnership at Davos



CANEUS International, in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, recently announced plans to establish the world's first dedicated Mid-Technology Readiness Level (TRL) institute during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This groundbreaking initiative is aimed at accelerating innovations and qualifications in the aerospace, energy, and deep technology sectors, aligning with the forum's theme of responsible innovation implementation.

The announcement was made in the presence of key dignitaries, including Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Dr. Milind Pimprikar, Chairman of CANEUS International. The proposed institute, located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), will focus on innovations at TRL 4–6, striving to bridge the gap for advancements in technology that require further development before commercialization.

Shri Devendra Fadnavis expressed Maharashtra's commitment to becoming a global hub for innovation and investment, stating that the state is well-equipped and proud to partner with CANEUS for pioneering innovation centers in dynamic sectors. He highlighted that Maharashtra's collaboration with this prestigious institute in close proximity to Mumbai—India's financial capital—aligns with its ambition to expand its global innovation ecosystem.

Dr. Milind Pimprikar emphasized the importance of this institution in advancing Mid-TRL innovations through various strategies, including rapid prototyping, system integration, and validation. He noted that the aim is to facilitate laboratory breakthroughs toward practical use and early-stage production, enhancing global competitiveness.

The institute will span 10 million square feet and will work in association with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Tier-1 suppliers, regulatory authorities, and research institutions. This initiative is poised to significantly attract global companies to India, acting as a strong magnet for foreign investment.
