Tokyo Tops Asia's Revisit Ranking
In the latest ranking released by Agoda Company Pte. Ltd., Tokyo has made headlines by being named Asia’s most revisited city for the first time, according to data from reservations made in the first half of 2026. The report, centered on destinations that attract travelers to return repeatedly, shows that Tokyo has overtaken Bangkok, demonstrating its enduring appeal among global visitors.
What is intriguing is that Fukuoka has also secured the 8th position in the ranking, marking its debut in the top 10 list. Alongside Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka, Japan showcases its diverse offerings, maintaining its reputation as a highly favored destination for international travelers. Notably, Japan continues to shine at the top of the list as the most revisited country in Asia, followed closely by Thailand and Vietnam.
Agoda’s data indicates that many travelers revisit the same destination multiple times within just six months. This trend underlines the persistent allure of places that continuously unveil new experiences for visitors. Indeed, the motivations for returning to a city can vary greatly; from visiting missed attractions and reliving cherished memories to exploring familiar locations in a different season.
