Coach USA Unveils 25 World Cup-Themed Buses in Exciting Partnership
In a spectacular move to capitalize on the global excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup, Coach USA's Perfect Body service has launched an impressive advertising initiative, wrapping 25 buses in stunning soccer-themed graphics. Based in North Bergen, New Jersey, this facility has been working round the clock to ensure that brands such as Lay's Bandwagon, Kalshi, and Buchanan's Deluxe are prominently featured in the bustling atmosphere of this year's tournament.
The decision to bring digital printing in-house was made last year by Bernhard Obry, the general manager of Perfect Body. This strategic shift has enabled Coach USA to handle its own design and installation of bus wraps, forging a lucrative partnership with advertising agency Interstate Outdoors to sell sponsored wraps. The proximity of their facility to the famous MetLife Stadium, which is hosting several World Cup matches including the final, could not have come at a better time, as the demand for bus advertising surged leading up to the games.
"The World Cup essentially creates its own 'microeconomy' in the cities where it is hosted," remarked Obry. This microeconomic landscape heavily influences some industries, particularly transportation and advertising. With Coach USA's contract to provide shuttle services for the tournament, the advertising wraps tied in perfectly with their business model, bringing in a flurry of new contracts and projects.
At the heart of this operation is a 45,000 square-foot facility complete with all the necessary equipment to repair Class 8 vehicles, featuring two 60-foot spray booths and an advanced mixing room. The Perfect Body Print Lab, a crucial component of their operation, is well-equipped with Roland DG TrueVis XP-640 printers that have been running for up to 16 hours a day.
The rapid turnaround and exceptional color match provided by these high-speed printers have been instrumental in fulfilling the demande for quality graphics. Notably, the Perfect Body team planned ahead, collaborating with key suppliers like Letra Sign to secure ample printing materials and eco-solvent inks necessary for the task, including an enormous supply of yellow ink required for the Lay's Bandwagon wraps.
Due to the tightly packed World Cup schedule, the buses are currently running their regular commuter routes before being used as shuttles during the matches. To adapt to this unique operational rhythm, the team invented a method to stay ahead of demand by printing the graphics two or three sets in advance and immediately starting installations whenever a bus becomes available. This efficient workflow has allowed them to maintain their regular workload alongside the demands of the World Cup advertising rush.
To date, Perfect Body has wrapped 15 buses for various brands including WorldCupAct.org and 10 for Lay's Bandwagon, along with other notable efforts, such as promotional materials for Broadway's "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." As the World Cup draws to a close, Coach USA/Perfect Body is already preparing to revert back to more standard operations, which includes removing the World Cup-themed wraps and refreshing the buses with new graphics.
"We've experienced an incredible level of productivity, allowing us to provide our clients with exceptional service throughout this busy period," concluded Obry. Looking ahead, they aim to sustain this momentum, ensuring that the buses are back on the roads quickly and efficiently after the event.
