Vets Pets Welcomes Audrey Lysko as Chief Operating Officer
Vets Pets, a cooperative network of veterinary hospitals based in North Carolina, has officially appointed Audrey Lysko as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). This strategic move is expected to propel operational excellence throughout the organization.
In her new role, Lyko will collaborate with the leadership team to foster growth and enhance the capabilities of the Vets Pets network, which is dedicated to providing compassionate care to animals. Her experience and expertise align perfectly with the company's mission and vision.
Previously, Lysko held the position of Division President at Unified Women's Healthcare, managing over 100 private OB/GYN practices across the nation. She was responsible for various critical aspects such as strategy implementation, operational management, and financial oversight. Her role required her to work closely with medical directors and administrative leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and sustained practices.
"During my career, I have always prioritized collaboration with physicians and practice teams. Finding a company like Vets Pets, which values its people above all, feels like discovering a rare gem," commented Lysko. She expressed her excitement about joining a team that embodies a people-first approach, which resonates deeply with her professional philosophy.
With over ten years of experience in healthcare consulting at firms like Kurt Salmon and The Chartis Group, Lysko has focused on strategy implementation and performance improvement for various healthcare providers, including hospitals and medical groups. In addition to her consulting background, she has co-authored numerous whitepapers discussing medical group management and enhancing patient access and engagement.
Lysko holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Duke University and an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler. She is passionately involved in the community, serving on the board of the Caring Community Foundation and co-chairing the UNC Center for the Business of Health. Residing in Raleigh, she balances her professional career with family life, enjoying time with her husband, two children, and their beloved lab/pit mix.
Steve Thomas, the CEO of Vets Pets, expressed his confidence in Lysko's ability to drive the organization forward. "Audrey understands what makes Vets Pets unique. Her dedication to operational excellence will play a vital role in our continued investment in our hospitals and the teams leading them," he stated.
