Tokyo to Host the UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum 2027



The city of Tokyo will make history as it welcomes the UCI MOBILITY & BIKE CITY FORUM in 2027, a significant event dedicated to discussing the future of cycling and its sustainable development. This announcement was made public by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today, marking Tokyo's inaugural hosting of this prestigious forum.

About the UCI Forum


The UCI Forum is the largest international conference organized by UCI, where participants engage in discussions about cycling from various perspectives, including sports, sustainability, and urban development. Past editions included events in cities like Abu Dhabi, Copenhagen, and Athens, drawing around 100 attendees, including UCI officials, national federations, athletes, and bicycle industry stakeholders.

The upcoming UCI Forum will be held over two days, on November 14th (Sunday) and 15th (Monday), 2027. Specific details regarding the venue, event program, and participant list will be announced closer to the date.

Tokyo's Recognition


In preparation for the forum, Tokyo has proudly received the UCI BIKE CITY LABEL, a recognition awarded to pioneering cities and regions that promote cycling initiatives. As the first city in East Asia to achieve this designation, Tokyo aims to collaborate with UCI and other certified cities to develop cycling-friendly sports programs and create safe, enjoyable environments for all cyclists.

This is part of the city's broader commitment to integrate cycling into its urban infrastructure, highlighting the health and environmental benefits of cycling as a daily mode of transportation.
