MotherTree, an organization dedicated to supporting the educational aspirations of ethnic minority children and youth in Laos, will hold its first activity report on October 15, 2026, at Musashino Art University’s Ichigaya campus. This event will highlight the stories and progress of scholarship students and reflect on how education can create change.

Laos is home to many ethnic minorities who often reside in rural or mountainous areas, where financial constraints hinder their opportunities for further education. Since launching scholarship support in 2025, MotherTree’s mission has been to assist young individuals eager to learn, breaking the barriers created by their economic situations. Rather than merely providing funds for education, MotherTree focuses on nurturing each student’s personal dreams and growth, aiming to create role models for future generations.

During this event, participants will explore the outcomes of one year of support through visual showcases and narratives from the students. Notable success stories include Lanoy, who achieved a GPA of 3.92 and ranked first in her university class. At’s experiences have expanded her ambitions, leading her to dream even bigger for her future. Additionally, Yie has been accepted to both a medical university in Laos and a university in China, opting to study in China to further her aspirations.

The report will also feature the second edition scholarship ceremony, welcoming new scholars and sharing their dreams and motivations for learning. Attendees can expect insights into the vibrant activities in Laos, including stories from the Lao Friends Pediatric Hospital, the HOPE Center where children learn, and the organization’s efforts in ethnic minority villages.

MotherTree emphasizes more than just financial aid; it seeks to establish lasting connections with each scholarship recipient, closely monitoring their growth and progress. The organization believes that each individual can eventually inspire the next generation as a beacon of hope.
