A Unique Buddhist Bar Experience with Former Entrepreneur Yukiryu Arakawa

Experience Buddhism at the Sanbou Buddhist Bar

On June 3, 2026, the Sanbou community will welcome Yukiryu Arakawa, a former entrepreneur and now a Buddhist monk, for a casual discussion about Buddhism alongside drinks at the Sanbou Bar in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo.

The Background of the Event

Business leaders often face intense daily pressures and a pressing need to reassess their mindset and lifestyle. Despite the ancient wisdom Buddhism has to offer, many people perceive it as daunting or feel that attending a temple is out of reach. To bridge this gap, Sanbou has developed the Buddhist Bar concept. This event allows attendees to engage with Buddhist teachings informally and in a friendly atmosphere, sans the formal preaching. Yukiryu Arakawa's journey is particularly inspiring; after facing numerous setbacks in his entrepreneurial career, he discovered the profound teachings of Buddhism and decided to become a monk.

Arakawa considers Buddhism a ‘manual for living in the present world’ and aims to share insights that resonate deeply with business leaders and anyone seeking wisdom for their daily lives. Participants can expect a relaxed evening of open dialogue and meaningful exchanges.
