Mysterious Coffee Shop Opening in Shinjuku: Solve Puzzles to Exit!

Welcome to the World of Hatenacoffee in Shinjuku

A brand new and intriguing cafe experience awaits in Shinjuku, Tokyo! Experiful Co., Ltd. is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its unique puzzle-solving cafe, Hatenacoffee, on May 21, 2025. This exciting establishment invites patrons not only to enjoy delightful coffee but to engage their minds in a fun and mysterious way that promises an unforgettable experience.

What is Hatenacoffee?

Hatenacoffee is not your ordinary cafe; it combines the casual vibes of a coffee shop with the thrill of puzzle-solving. Guests can drop by anytime, whether alone or with friends, without needing a reservation. This means you can come in, grab a drink, and dive into a world of mystery at your own pace. However, there’s a catch! Once inside, you won’t be able to leave until you’ve solved the puzzles at hand. It’s a delightful and relaxed approach to an escape game, allowing for thoughtful consideration and creativity in discovering the solution!

Unique Puzzles to Challenge You

All the puzzles at Hatenacoffee are original creations by the detective-themed production label, Tantei Atelier. Leveraging their expertise, the cafe offers accessible and satisfying clues designed to keep you entertained. You will encounter various tricks, from unlocking treasure chests and utilizing unusual items to engaging in cleverly devised tasks. While the initial offerings will primarily cater to beginners, the variety is set to expand, ensuring something for everyone!

Buzz Before the Opening

Hatenacoffee has already created a stir online, particularly on the social media platform X, where its pre-opening announcement garnered around 100,000 impressions in just one day! The first location near Yokohama Station has proven so popular that some customers even faced a two-hour wait to get in. Early interactions indicate a wealth of excitement leading up to the Shinjuku store’s launch.

A Step Up in Shinjuku

The new Shinjuku location aims to enhance the concept established in Yokohama. The first cafe often had long lines, leading to this second establishment's development to better accommodate guests. The Shinjuku venue will feature an even trendier decor and introduce exclusive new take-home puzzle experiences titled 'Etomonogatari', beckoning an easy-going entry into the world of mystery.
