NOK Showcases Innovative Solutions at Municipal and Public Week 2025

NOK Corporation, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, is set to participate in the Municipal and Public Week 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight from July 2 to 4. This event marks NOK’s second appearance, following their participation in 2024. This year's theme is "Transforming Possibilities into Technology," where they will unveil ten new products, including those aimed at tackling the pressing issues of aging infrastructure and disaster response.

As society faces the challenges of deteriorating public utilities and frequent natural disasters, NOK is committed to offering technological solutions. At this trade show, they will introduce products such as the "Hydrogen Sulfide Detection Rubber" and the "High-Capacity Pressurized Water Purifier," which are designed with the needs of local governments and public agencies in mind.

Key Innovations on Display

Hydrogen Sulfide Detection Rubber: This newly developed product, making its debut at the exhibition, aims to enhance the safety of workers during sewer inspections. With water infrastructure aging throughout the country, the importance of inspection tasks is increasingly recognized. This rubber can be easily installed in manholes, allowing workers to visually confirm any gas emissions, thus improving safety and operational efficiency during inspections. In addition, the detection feature ensures that workers can carry out their duties confidently.

High-Capacity Pressurized Water Purifier: Another highlight is this innovative product designed for emergency situations to secure safe drinking water. The purifier can treat large quantities of rainwater or river water, providing a vital water source for hygiene during crises. It incorporates a special membrane cartridge developed by NOK, ensuring lightweight and compact storage while operating without electricity, making it reliable during power outages.

In addition to these, NOK will showcase various solutions such as the Hydrogen Detection Rubber, which helps in swiftly identifying hydrogen leaks, and the Recycled Rubber Mat, made from manufacturing by-products, promoting sustainable practices. Each product reflects the needs of local agencies and includes special designs suited for various applications, paving the way for more efficient public infrastructure management.

Commitment to Sustainable and Safe Living

As challenges continue to evolve, NOK remains dedicated to closely listening to the voices from the field to seek out technological solutions to address public sector issues. They believe that innovation plays a crucial role in creating a sustainable society.

Introducing Wearable Echo Sensors and Brainwave Measurement Systems further showcases NOK’s ambition to enhance health and safety through technology. These devices can monitor physical conditions in real-time, potentially revolutionizing health management and reducing risks associated with fatigue and focus during critical operations.

The Fatigue and Emotion Detection ECG Sensor System developed by NOK, which uses a conductive fabric and rubber electrodes, offers further capabilities in assessing the wellbeing of drivers and workers, contributing to safety in various operational settings.
