Successful Fundraising for the Second Hotel Along the JR Ome Line

Successful Fundraising for the Second Hotel Along the JR Ome Line

In a remarkable step towards enhancing regional revitalization, Enjoyworks Inc., based in Kamakura, Kanagawa, and Marugoto Co., located in Okutama, Tokyo, have successfully met their fundraising target of 100 million yen for the second villa-type accommodation under the dispersed lodging project known as the "Marugoto Hotel" along the JR Ome Line. This venture aims to create an immersive hotel experience by integrating local resources within the surrounding communities into a cohesive hospitality offering.

The successful fundraising campaign was launched through "Hello! RENOVATION"—Enjoyworks' real estate crowdfunding platform dedicated to community revitalization—just three weeks after its kickoff on December 5, 2025. For more details, you can visit the Hello! RENOVATION fund page here.

Concept of the Marugoto Hotel

The "Marugoto Hotel" initiative represents a unique and innovative approach to community revitalization, where the railway stations and the surrounding villages are transformed into a singular hotel experience. Through this concept, Enjoyworks and Marugoto have begun using the train stations and adjacent areas as the "hotel front desk," while repurposing traditional homes and vacant properties in the neighborhoods into the hotel rooms. Furthermore, local residents are engaged in the hospitality process as the hotel staff, thus allowing guests to truly enjoy the entire vicinity.

The first establishment, known as "Satologue," is set to open in May 2025 and has received positive operational feedback. It features a restaurant, sauna facilities, and a lodging unit with four twin rooms. Building on this success, the two companies are committed to developing the second villa-type accommodation, leading to this recent fundraising initiative.

Investing in Regional Revitalization

Investors in this fund include corporate and individual stakeholders who resonate with the project's ethos, rather than those simply looking for returns. This fundraising effort stands out not just due to its sizeable target of 100 million yen, but also for the speed at which the goal was achieved, marking it as one of the quickest successes in the history of "Hello! RENOVATION." The deep connection that investors feel to the sustainable tourism model that utilizes railway infrastructure and local resources was pivotal in driving this rapid funding achievement.

During this fundraising phase, notable contributions came from key players in the local community, including the S&D Tama Group, which focuses on mobility services in the Tama area, and Ozawa Sake Brewery, among others who supported the Marugoto Hotel initiative. The collaboration between these stakeholders illustrates a commitment to further developing an appealing community environment alongside investor participation.

Collaborative Project Management

The management framework for this project is well-structured, with Marugoto acting as the principal entity responsible for coordinating with local governments, railway operators, and the operational planning of dispersed lodging facilities. On the other side, Enjoyworks focuses on creating opportunities for individual investors who resonate with the project's vision to participate actively in community business ventures.

Throughout information sessions and site visits, representatives from both organizations conveyed their visions for the project while addressing investment dynamics, risks, and benefits in a transparent manner. This cooperative dialogue has enabled investors to transcend the role of mere funders, becoming vital community partners in support of the initiative's goals.

The recent achievement of fundraising is a testament to the effective collaboration between both companies and serves as an example of a participatory support model that fosters sustainable community development initiatives.

Future Developments

  • - Completion is scheduled for May 2026.
