Jackery and Homey Join Forces for Enhanced Battery Integration in Europe

Jackery and Homey Collaboration

In an exciting development for sustainable energy solutions, Jackery, a global leader in innovative energy products, has announced its strategic collaboration with Homey, the smart home platform developed by Athom and part of LG Electronics. This partnership is designed to enhance intelligent energy management specifically for Jackery’s new SolarVault 3 series of plug-in home batteries.

What the Partnership Entails

The integration of the Jackery SolarVault 3 series with the Homey Energy Dongle via the P1 interface enables consumers on the Dutch market to gain real-time insights into their home energy data. This connection allows users to adapt their battery output dynamically in response to their household energy consumption, transforming conventional plug-in batteries into smart energy storage systems that react intelligently to home usage patterns.

One of the most significant benefits of this integration is the feature of zero feed-in to the grid. By increasing self-consumption, homeowners can better utilize the energy generated by their solar panels, in line with recent trends in the Dutch energy market such as the decline of the netting arrangement and the emergence of dynamic energy pricing.

The Future of Household Energy Management

Stefan Witkamp, CEO of Athom, emphasized the importance of this technology, stating, "Electricity prices fluctuate significantly, and it is far more beneficial to utilize generated solar power rather than feed it back into the grid. A plug-in battery becomes significantly more useful when it can respond to real-time household conditions. This is precisely what the Jackery SolarVault 3 can accomplish with Homey."

Installation is straightforward, allowing users to connect the Homey Energy Dongle directly to their smart meter and sync it to the Jackery system through the app without the need for additional electrical modifications. This ease of use ensures that consumers can quickly take advantage of advanced energy management features.

Advancements in AI-Driven Solutions

Jeff Shen, Head of Sales Europe at Jackery, described the collaboration as a pivotal step in their evolution from hardware suppliers to providers of data-driven energy solutions. “With the SolarVault 3 series, we empower smarter, faster energy management at home, while simultaneously accelerating our integration within the broader Homey energy ecosystem.”

Looking ahead, Jackery and Homey are not just stopping at real-time grid integration; they are also working on further software collaborations. An extensive integration of Homey energy management features is set to roll out in July, which will include AI-driven optimization for charging and discharging based on weather forecasts and user behavior. These innovations aim to create energy strategies that optimize usage in accordance with dynamic pricing and coordinate with connected devices such as EV charging stations, heat pumps, and smart plugs, providing a home energy experience that evolves automatically with the user’s needs.

Upcoming Showcase at The Smarter E Europe

The Jackery SolarVault 3 series, alongside selected Homey products, will be showcased from June 23 to 25 at The Smarter E Europe in Munich at booth C2.150. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the integrated energy solution live, reflecting the future potential of smart energy management in homes across Europe.

With this collaboration, Jackery and Homey are set to redefine how customers interact with energy, moving towards a more sustainable and efficient future for household energy management.
