Fiace Home Introduces Energy Efficiency Labels for All Properties Starting July 1, 2024

Fiace Home's Commitment to Energy Efficiency

Fiace Home Company, part of LIXIL Residential Research Institute, has made a significant stride in sustainable construction. Starting from July 1, 2024, every home built by Fiace Home will feature an energy efficiency label, along with their unique e-report and airtightness testing report. This initiative aims to make the performance of homes more transparent and accessible to consumers.

Founded in 2008, Fiace Home has dedicated itself to addressing environmental issues such as global warming. The company has been at the forefront of creating homes that are not only energy-efficient but also designed to harness natural resources like sunlight and wind through a concept known as passive design. This approach ensures that homes are comfortable and sustainable for long-term living.

In response to consumer demand, the company has already been providing comprehensive reports that detail the airtightness (C value) of homes and performance simulations through the e-report. The new energy efficiency label is being introduced as a part of the broader initiative effective from April 2024, pursuant to the Energy Efficiency Labeling System legislated under the Building Energy Conservation Law in Japan. Though existing housing projects currently implement the labels as a voluntary measure, Fiace Home is committed to applying this to all its new constructions as part of its brand promise.

The Energy Efficiency Label simplifies the evaluation of a building's energy performance, making it easy for consumers to compare and choose homes that are energy efficient. Alongside this, the e-report showcases energy-saving effects using weather data to simulate room temperature and anticipated energy bills, providing a clearer picture of cost implications for potential homeowners.

Furthermore, the airtightness testing report quantifies the spaces in a home (the C value), where a lower number indicates a tighter, more energy-efficient home, enhancing the effectiveness of heating and cooling systems. This data will be crucial for validating not just energy efficiency but also overall comfort, resale value, and the home’s investment quality.
