Yanagimachi Summer Festival at Sendai Trust City
Mori Trust Corporation, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, is pleased to announce its participation in the
Yanagimachi Summer Festival, scheduled for
July 19 and 20, 2025. This endeavor aims to enhance community engagement and vitality in Sendai. To contribute to the festival's liveliness,
Sendai Trust City will serve as a venue, featuring entertainment stages and food booths.
Festival Overview
Established in 1953, the Yanagimachi Summer Festival centers around
Dainichido in Aoba-ku, Sendai. The festival transforms part of
Yanagimachidori into a pedestrian paradise filled with local traditions, street fairs, and fireworks, inviting enjoyment from residents and tourists alike.
On Saturday, July 19, local children will carry a
Kodomo Mikoshi through Sendai Trust City Plaza, promoting active involvement. Additionally, traditional performances including the
Suzume Odori, a folk dance from Sendai, will be showcased across both festival days.
Mori Trust shares the sentiment of festival organizers who aim to make the event a platform for children to participate and challenge themselves, leading to our inaugural attendance.
