Synclayer Showcases Innovative Solutions for Social Issues at Local Government Fair

Synclayer Inc., a prominent solution provider in the broadcasting and communication sector, is set to participate in the 'Local Government Fair 2026', which will take place from July 8 to 10 at Tokyo Big Sight. The fair, organized by the Japan Management Association, emphasizes the theme of 'Discovery, Awareness, and Co-creation for Regional Revitalization'. Synclayer aims to present a range of solutions designed to tackle pressing social challenges, including issues related to solitary death, disaster prevention, and information transmission.

Founded in 1962, Synclayer has a rich history of utilizing its technological expertise to address societal problems. This year's exhibit will focus on various solutions that local governments face, addressing complex issues such as aging populations, emergency communication during disasters, maintaining communication infrastructure, and labor shortages. By integrating broadcasting and communication technology, Synclayer aims to contribute to building more reliable and sustainable regional infrastructures.

Exhibit Highlights

At the fair, Synclayer will showcase a variety of solutions, ensuring they meet the practical needs of local governments. Each solution is developed with the intent of real-world application, from solitary death prevention to disaster management and effective information dissemination.

Solitary Death Prevention: 'Denpa de Miteru-kun'

This innovative service utilizes AI to analyze slight changes in Wi-Fi signals, detecting movements within a home. If no movement is detected over a specified duration, an automatic alert is triggered. This solution is easy to use; simply plugging in a specialized device into an outlet eliminates the need for cameras or wearables, ensuring privacy while providing discreet safety checks. Primarily aimed at local governments and real estate management companies, it effectively addresses solitary death concerns, especially among elderly individuals living alone.

Disaster Prevention Broadcasting: FM Notification Systems

Synclayer's FM notification systems leverage cable TV FM channels and community FM frequencies to deliver emergency and regional information directly to dedicated devices installed in homes. The ultra-compact postcard-sized devices are designed to automatically activate during emergencies, transmitting alerts at maximum volume alongside flashing indicators, even if the power is off. Many municipalities, including Awaji Island's Sumoto City and Kuroshio Town in Kochi Prefecture, have already adopted this infrastructure for disaster information dissemination.

Disaster Strategy: Outdoor Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems

This next-generation power system provides efficient power supply and backup for 5G base stations and network hubs. With a battery life approximately twice that of conventional lead-acid batteries and a size that is less than half, these compact systems can be directly mounted on walls or columns. Their design allows for natural heat dissipation and silent operation, significantly reducing installation costs and timeframe.

Seminar Highlights

An engaging seminar titled 'Can Wi-Fi Reveal Human Movement?' will be hosted by Ken Ishihara, a chief member from the Network System Promotion Department. It will explore innovative tools that facilitate monitoring even with staff shortages, scheduled for July 10 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The seminar is free but requires prior registration due to limited capacity.
