Pioneering CO2 Sequestration
Deep Sky Alpha is distinguished as the first DAC facility in North America to store CO2 underground. The CO2 captured by Deep Sky Alpha will originate from multiple DAC facilities located around the globe, making way for up to ten systems in total this fall. Among those currently being activated are Airhive and Mission Zero Technologies from the UK, alongside Skyrenu, based in Quebec. Additional DAC units are also set to be installed in the upcoming months.
Renewable Energy Integration
Deep Sky Alpha's strategic location not only provides access to renewable energy sources but also favorable proximity to permanent geological storage sites. The facility is powered entirely by solar energy and is expected to capture around 3,000 tons of CO2 annually. Notably, the project has generated over 110 construction jobs and will employ around 15 full-time staff.
Monitoring of the extraction and storage processes will occur via proprietary software, with updates shared on Deep Sky's website. Deep Sky Alpha is the inaugural phase of a global carbon elimination project developed by Deep Sky, with large-scale developments already planned for Alberta, Quebec, and beyond.

This landmark endeavor builds upon Deep Sky’s recent $40 million funding from Breakthrough Energy Catalyst as well as carbon credit sales agreements with clients like Microsoft and the Royal Bank of Canada. Deep Sky aids businesses in meeting their decarbonization goals through highly integrated carbon removal credits that can be utilized to counterbalance corporate emissions.
