New Daily Pacific Surfliner Train Connects Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo

The LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency, in collaboration with the Ventura County Transportation Commission and the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments, is excited to announce the launch of a new daily roundtrip service on the Pacific Surfliner. This service, set to commence on May 4, 2026, aims to enhance travel options and improve regional mobility along California's stunning Central Coast.

Beginning in early May, this service expansion will increase Pacific Surfliner operations to six daily trips to Goleta and three daily trips to San Luis Obispo. This increase is designed to provide greater flexibility for weekday commuters and leisure travelers, significantly boosting connectivity in the region.

Marjie Kirn, Executive Director of SBCAG, commented, “The increased rail service aligns with our efforts to provide more flexible travel options, fulfilling what voters have requested through Measure A, our half-cent sales tax for transportation.”

SBCAG is also hosting an employer's forum on April 22, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Goleta to promote not only jobs but also alternative commuting options available in the region.
