On September 8, 2026, Udaipur played host to an exceptional sporting event, the 3rd Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon. Organized by Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world's largest integrated zinc producer, this year's marathon drew a staggering 9,700 participants, marking a significant nearly 45% increase from the previous edition. The event attracted runners from 27 states across India and six countries, showcasing the growing popularity of the marathon, which is celebrated for its unique backdrop and purpose.

This year's event featured various categories: a formidable 21.097 km Half Marathon, a 10 km race, and a 5 km run, in addition to a Champions Race specifically catering to the rural communities of Rajasthan. Participants included competitive runners, casual joggers, seniors, corporate teams, women-led fitness groups, and specially-abled athletes, demonstrating the marathon's inclusive spirit.

The 10 km race saw Tehender winning the men's title in 32:01, while Kumari Parru triumphed in the women’s category with a time of 36:49.
