Moove Partners with Waymo to Revolutionize Urban Mobility Solutions

Moove Partners with Waymo to Redefine Urban Mobility

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Moove, a leader in innovative mobility solutions, teams up with Waymo, the world’s foremost autonomous driving company. This partnership marks a significant milestone as the first commercial alliance of its kind under the Waymo One app. This initiative aims to reshape urban transport by leveraging advanced technology for seamless and efficient mobility experiences.

Details of the Partnership

As part of the agreement, Moove will manage and operate Waymo’s fully autonomous fleet, initiating operations in Phoenix in 2025, and subsequently expanding to Miami by 2026. Moove’s responsibilities will encompass fleet operations, facility management, and establishing charging infrastructure to ensure the smooth functioning of Waymo's electric, self-driving vehicles. Meanwhile, Waymo will continue to offer its services through the Waymo One app and remain accountable for the validation and performance of its pioneering autonomous driving technology known as the Waymo Driver.

Ryan McNamara, Vice President of Operations at Waymo, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to collaborate with Moove in Phoenix and Miami. He stated, "We're excited to partner with Moove in Phoenix and later in Miami, combining their mobility-focused fleet management expertise with our expanding Waymo One service. Together, we will provide safe, seamless rides for our passengers, scaling faster and more cost-effectively, with safety as our core priority."

Expanding Into Autonomous Vehicles

As Moove ventures into the realm of autonomous vehicles, it remains committed to serving its existing clients in emerging markets. The company will continue offering its flagship product, Drive-to-Own (DTO), which facilitates vehicle ownership for underserved mobility entrepreneurs, driving business success for them. The rise of autonomous vehicles presents the potential for a transformative future where inefficiencies, safety concerns, and environmental issues of traditional mobility systems can be addressed effectively.

According to the World Health Organization, road traffic accidents claim approximately 1.19 million lives each year, marking them as one of the leading global causes of fatalities. Shared autonomous mobility solutions embody a unique opportunity to reduce congestion in cities, boost safety, and foster the creation of more sustainable urban environments.

Moove’s fleet management proficiency will enable Waymo to focus on enhancing its innovative Waymo Driver technology while simultaneously delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable experiences for passengers. Ladi Delano, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Moove, emphasized, "Ride-hailing has radically altered urban mobility over the past 15 years; however, the core business model has largely remained the same. Waymo’s secure and convenient Waymo One service leads in autonomous technology, and together we are driving a significant transformation in urban mobility. We are proud to partner with Waymo and contribute our operational expertise to facilitate this change."

Promoting Sustainable Mobility

Moove’s entry into the U.S. market is a critical element of a broader strategy to establish the world’s largest fleet and the best technologies powering mobility platforms. The company’s growth was accelerated by its global partnership with Uber and backing from prominent investors, including Uber, who participated in Series B funding in 2024. With operations spanning 12 markets across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, Moove has already assisted over 30,000 mobility entrepreneurs in completing more than 50 million rides with vehicles financed by Moove.
