Universal Technical Institute Expands Training Opportunities in Atlanta and San Antonio
Universal Technical Institute (UTI), recognized for its commitment to providing top-notch education in transportation and skilled trades, has announced the initiation of recruitment for its new campuses in Atlanta, Georgia, and San Antonio, Texas. Both campuses are set to launch in the summer and spring of 2026, respectively, pending regulatory approvals.
A Commitment to Workforce Solutions
In a statement from Tracy Lorenz, Division President of Universal Technical Institute, it was emphasized how these new locations are not just about expanding the company's footprint but are strategically designed to cater to the growing needs of students, employers, and communities at large. This expansion aligns with the institute's mission to facilitate hands-on training and education that can adapt to market demands, ultimately contributing to regional economic development.
Details of the New Campuses
UTI-Atlanta
The Atlanta campus will occupy a substantial 117,000 square feet and is situated at 7100 Highlands Parkway SE in Smyrna. This campus is particularly notable because it will be the first of its kind in Georgia for UTI. The facility will be equipped with advanced classrooms and specialized labs offering a variety of training programs, including automotive, diesel, aviation, electrical, robotics and automation, HVACR, and welding. This diversity in programs reflects UTI's aim to prepare students for a wide range of in-demand careers.
UTI-San Antonio
On the other hand, the UTI-San Antonio campus promises to break new ground as the company's first site dedicated exclusively to skilled trades. Located at 5776 Stemmons Drive, this 51,000-square-foot facility aims to offer specialized programs in aviation, welding, HVACR, and an electrical training suite that encompasses wind energy, robotics, industrial maintenance, and electrical/electronics. The San Antonio site will complement existing campuses in Austin, Houston, and Dallas, further solidifying UTI's presence in Texas.
Accreditation Efforts
Both new campuses are in the process of applying for accreditation via the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), a body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Achieving accreditation is essential as it ensures that the programs offered meet rigorous educational standards, providing students with a qualification that is widely recognized by employers in the industry.
