An overwhelming 94% of businesses find managing unstructured data to be a major hurdle, essentially indicating that the vast majority of companies struggle with the very data sets that are critical for effective AI deployment. Currently, only 16% recognize unstructured data management as a crucial IT investment, though this figure is expected to rise as 60% of companies plan to increase their investment in this area within the next 18 months.

"While businesses are eager to dive into AI projects, many are led astray by outdated data management strategies that limit their capability to extract meaningful insights. For instance, 66% of companies in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector cite data security as their top concern regarding unstructured data. Manufacturers grapple with heightened cybersecurity risks and prolonged recovery timelines, while organizations in the energy and oil industries remain divided on whether AI decision-making should be managed by general management or IT, resulting in a disconnect between goals.
