Supporting the MS Community: MSAA Holds the 12th Improving Lives Benefit Gala

MSAA Hosts the 12th Improving Lives Benefit

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is gearing up for its 12th Improving Lives Benefit, set to take place on May 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM ET, at The Switch House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This event aims to support the multiple sclerosis (MS) community by providing crucial resources and creating a platform for awareness. This year’s event is notable as it will also be livestreamed, offering opportunities for attendees from across the nation to participate comfortably from their homes.

Attendees will have a chance to network, engage with other MS community members, and honor distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the MS cause. A highlight of the evening will be the awarding of the Mission Honoree title to Tyler Campbell, an esteemed best-selling author and inspirational speaker. Campbell is highly regarded in the MS community for his advocacy work, which aims to raise awareness and inspire hope among those affected by the disease.

Furthermore, the event will also recognize icometrix as the Corporate Honoree. This innovative company has developed FDA-cleared AI software that assesses brain scans of patients with neurological conditions, including MS. This technology is proving instrumental in helping medical professionals improve their understanding and management of the disease.

Amanda Montague, MSAA's Interim President and CEO, expressed her pride in this year’s honorees. “We are incredibly proud to recognize two exceptional honorees this year. Tyler Campbell has been an amazing advocate raising awareness while sharing uplifting messages of hope throughout the MS community and beyond. Similarly, we admire icometrix for its groundbreaking contributions in brain imaging technology, aimed at enhancing care for individuals living with MS,” she stated.

The annual Improving Lives Benefit is a critical event for MSAA, as it not only raises funds that directly support their essential programs but also strengthens the bonds within the MS community. The funds raised contribute to various life-changing initiatives that include providing educational resources, mobility equipment, MRI funding, and online support through platforms like My MSAA Community, which fosters peer-to-peer connections among individuals affected by MS.

This year, MSAA extends its gratitude to Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation for being the Presenting Sponsor of the event. This kind of support is vital for helping MSAA fulfill its mission of improving lives of those affected by multiple sclerosis.

To participate in the event, tickets are available for purchase on MSAA's official website at mymsaa.org/benefit. It’s a tremendous opportunity to connect, learn, and support those touched by MS.

MSAA continues to be the leading resource for individuals affected by multiple sclerosis. The organization focuses on not only delivering vital services but also advocating for increased awareness, research funding, and innovation aimed at improving the lives of those dealing with this complex disease.

About Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease that impacts the central nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. It causes damage to myelin, the protective sheath surrounding nerve fibers, leading to communication issues between the brain and the body. Common symptoms include visual disturbances, fatigue, coordination problems, and cognitive difficulties. Currently, nearly one million people live with MS in the United States, and most are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50. Research continues in hopes of uncovering the cause and effective treatments for this challenging condition.
