Enertech Global and Burton Community Win IGSHPA Innovation Recognition for 2025

Enertech Global Achieves Recognition with 2025 IGSHPA Residential Innovation Award

Enertech Global has recently been honored with the esteemed 2025 Residential Innovation Award by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA). This recognition is a testament to the company’s exemplary work in the development of a sustainable community, known as Burton, designed to coexist harmoniously with the serene environment of Lake Burton in northeast Georgia.

A Vision for Sustainable Living

Burton is not just another community; it is an intentional living space crafted to respect and celebrate the natural surroundings. By utilizing Enertech's advanced geothermal heating and cooling solutions, Burton has been able to create an environment that truly embodies tranquility and sustainability.

"This award epitomizes the dedication that both Enertech and the Burton community have towards innovative and sustainable development," stated Jeff Hammond, Executive Director of IGSHPA. Clearly, the collaboration between Enertech and Burton showcases a shared commitment to pioneering eco-friendly living solutions.

Why Geothermal?

The decision to implement geothermal systems was strategically chosen for several reasons. As Bill Lynch, the Master Developer of Burton, articulated, maintaining the tranquil atmosphere of the community was of utmost importance. Traditional HVAC systems often intersect with outdoor noise pollution, whereas geothermal solutions inherently minimize noise output, ensuring a peaceful living space.

Moreover, the cost-effectiveness associated with geothermal heating and cooling made it an easy choice for the development. Lynch explained, "With the prevailing lower energy costs, the Enertech geothermal systems stood out as the most logical and beneficial option from the start. The Enertech team participated in our journey before any physical developments took place, facilitating a seamless implementation of geothermal technology."

Harmonizing with Nature

The architectural and environmental design of the Burton community emphasizes integration with the landscape. Featuring over 80 residences, eateries, retail spaces, and a luxurious spa, each component has been planned diligently to ensure the community enhances rather than disrupts the natural beauty of its lake and mountain surroundings. Lew Oliver, Co-Developer and Town Planner, remarked, "Burton is a remarkable destination in itself, wherein geothermal technology harmonizes with the life and vibrancy of the locale."

Tim Wright, COO of Enertech, shared his enthusiasm about the project, stating how honored the Enertech team is to be chosen as a partner early on in the community's conception. "We view this development as a reflection of our mission to transform the heating and cooling dynamics of homes and neighborhoods," Wright added.
