Exciting Group Exhibition 'COMPLEX' at YUGEN Gallery FUKUOKA Featuring South Korean Artists

YUGEN Gallery FUKUOKA Presents 'COMPLEX'

YUGEN Gallery FUKUOKA is currently hosting an exciting group exhibition titled "COMPLEX" featuring a collection of works by the renowned South Korean artist collective, C.P.S (Complex Seoul). This exhibition runs from June 12 to June 26, 2025, and showcases the innovative approaches of five talented participating artists: Ju Jaebum, 275C (Ichiro.C), Kim Dong-ho, Seol Dongju, and Lee Dong Hoon.

C.P.S, based in Seoul, is composed of artists celebrated for their collaborations with global brands such as Starbucks, adidas, UNIQLO, and MCM. They have also participated in projects like the "Jentle Garden" game, a collaboration featuring JENNIE from BLACKPINK. The exhibition will be curated by Gallery Other, located in Fukuoka's Hirao district, aiming to create a unique dialogue bridging Korean and Japanese art.

A Multifaceted Approach to Modern Art

The exhibition "COMPLEX" serves as a reflection on the complexities of modern individualism and the underlying feelings of inferiority experienced by many in today's society. The theme is explored through diverse media, including paintings, sculptures, graphics, and video installations. A total of 15 works will be displayed, allowing each artist to interpret their daily experiences through their own lens.

Ju Jaebum, the leader of the collective, emphasizes how the artists express their emotions and personal narratives through the intricate interplay of memories and feelings. The artworks highlight the shadows cast by insecurities, encouraging visitors to confront their own vulnerabilities and connect with others sharing similar sentiments.

The stories told through the art pieces demonstrate how personal touch can resonate with a broader audience, often providing comfort to those experiencing similar emotions of inadequacy in a world driven by constant comparison.
