Open House Group's OEN Project: Empowering Junior High School Students in Osaka
On September 4, 2025, Open House Kansai, a subsidiary of Open House Group based in Tokyo, held a career education session at Ibaraki Kita Junior High School in Osaka. This initiative is part of the
O-EN HOUSE PROJECT, which aims to support individuals and businesses pursuing challenges. The event was specifically focused on empowering students and encouraging various challenges through initiatives like the
O-EN KIDS Challenge.
Open House Kansai has been actively engaging with local elementary schools to discuss the role of real estate in the community, as well as to conduct workshops focused on sustainability using leftover materials from housing construction. These efforts aim to contribute beneficially to the educational sector. The recent event was a result of a collaboration with the city’s
OEN (Osaka City Education Network) project, which was initiated to connect children, schools, and educators with businesses and universities that form the OEN team.
During the event, two sessions were held for 42 second-year junior high school students, each lasting 45 minutes. The focus was on careers in real estate and public relations, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Many students expressed a keen interest in event planning and project management, eagerly nodding and sparkling with excitement as they participated in the discussion. After the presentation, during the Q&A, students asked specific questions such as, “What do you enjoy most about your job?” and “How long does it take to prepare for an event?” This exchange revealed the high level of interest among students regarding potential career paths.
Mr. Sakamoto, a representative from Ibaraki Kita Junior High School, shared his thoughts, stating, “We invited Open House Group as part of our career education initiative. The feedback from students post-presentation was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing admiration for the diverse roles in advertising, event organization, real estate, and product development. They were surprised to learn how much activity happens behind the scenes in events and marketing. Many comments reflected that the experience was so enriching that one hour simply wasn’t enough, indicating a tremendous amount of curiosity.” He added his gratitude for providing such a valuable experience and hopes for future collaborations.
