Trial Holdings Accelerates EC Partnerships with New Company TRYU, Launching Online Grocery in Sapporo

Sapporo Welcomes TRIAL Net Supermarket

Trial Holdings, a major player in the retail sector based in Fukuoka, has recently made headlines by launching a new venture aimed at expanding its e-commerce operations. The newly established company, TRYU, headquartered in Tokyo, is set to integrate and strengthen the e-commerce efforts within the Trial Group. A key initiative under this new company is the introduction of the TRIAL Net Supermarket, which is officially being rolled out in Sapporo.

The establishment of TRYU coincides with the strategic integration of Trial Holdings and Seiyu, which is expected to occur by 2025. This new partnership leverages Seiyu's extensive experience in online grocery operations cultivated over more than 25 years, alongside Trial's robust store network and diverse product offerings. By combining strengths, the two companies aim to create a seamless e-commerce experience that encompasses both the TRIAL Net Supermarket and Seiyu's online service, optimizing their market reach.

The TRIAL Net Supermarket is scheduled to commence services gradually from the end of February 2026 at several locations, including the TRIAL smart Kotoni store and the Super Center Trial Teine store in Sapporo. Following this initial launch, net supermarket orders will officially begin on April 3, 2026, at the Super Center Trial Atsubetsu store, further widening the delivery area across the city.

With an impressive assortment of over 13,000 items, the TRIAL Net Supermarket promises an excellent selection, including fresh produce, processed foods, household items, and Seiyu’s private brand products, known for their quality. Customers will be able to enjoy the convenience of placing orders 24/7, along with six designated delivery slots each day, tailored to fit their individual lifestyles.

Looking ahead, TRYU plans to continually expand its delivery areas within Sapporo while also refreshing its online supermarket platforms in Fukuoka. This expansion plan includes moving into the Kyushu, Kansai, and Kanto regions, reflecting their commitment to enhancing customer value across a wider audience.

The integration of the TRIAL Net Supermarket is more than just an online shopping platform. It is part of a broader mission to create new opportunities within the e-commerce landscape. In addition to the online grocery service, Trial Holdings aims to develop quick commerce and gift e-commerce, fostering innovative ideas and services that enrich the shopping experience.

Shouhei Fujimura, President of TRYU and Executive Officer at Seiyu's Marketing Division, expressed his enthusiasm about the new establishment, emphasizing that consumer demand for online shopping continues to grow. He stated, “With the founding of TRYU, we are thrilled to merge our expertise to launch the TRIAL Net Supermarket. This initiative marks the beginning of our efforts to establish a strong e-commerce presence across Japan, transforming consumers' shopping experiences by blending digital and real-world interactions.”
