Celebrate Sauna Day with Local Wellness Projects in Tokyo's Central Line Area

Celebrate Sauna Day with Local Wellness Projects

On March 7, recognized as "Sauna Day" due to its phonetic play on 3 (Sa) and 7 (Una), three sauna and spa facilities along the Chuo Line—ROOFTOP in Nishi-Ogikubo, MONSTER WORK & SAUNA in Kichijoji, and FLOBA in Mitaka—will host the "Spring Fortune Invitation Project." This initiative, organized by Messe Property, aims to promote the benefits of sauna experiences while encouraging healthy living.

The Concept of 'Two Layers of Wellness'

The project revolves around the idea of "two layers of wellness":
1. Personal Wellness through sauna experiences that refresh both mind and body.
2. Community Wellness where the positive energy cultivated through personal wellness is shared with the community.

Step 1: Personal Wellness

During Sauna Day Week (March 1-8), participants can engage in a unique experience known as "Totonoie Bema," where they can express their positive feelings and resolutions on ema cards shaped like traditional wooden tablets. This initiative encourages participants to articulate their thoughts following their sauna sessions, fostering an environment where guests can share their wellness experiences with one another. Ema cards will be on display for everyone to see throughout the week.

Step 2: Community Wellness

To extend personal wellness into community actions, the project includes a spring cleaning event at the iconic Inokashira Park, a popular cherry blossom viewing spot, on March 15. This event aims to create a connection between personal well-being and collective responsibility, demonstrating how personal refreshment can translate into community beautification. Volunteers in this initiative will be honored with the title "Sakura Guardian," symbolizing their role in preserving the natural beauty of the area. Participants will enjoy the rewarding experience of rejuvenating the community while earning a complimentary visit to any of the associated sauna facilities after the cleanup.

Special Activities to Enjoy

During the Sauna Day Week, each facility will offer unique events including limited merchandise sales, special herbal steam sessions, and locally-inspired steamed buns for sale. A stamp rally called "Go-Sainrin" will also be featured, encouraging participants to visit all three locations; completing the rally earns them a rare "Sauna Trip Ticket" valid at any of the facilities.

Facility Highlights

ROOFTOP, located near a large co-working space, offers a traditional Finnish sauna experience.

MONSTER WORK & SAUNA, renowned for its spacious sauna, provides immersive relaxation experiences designed for large groups.

FLOBA combines serene bathing with a tranquil cafe atmosphere, making it a perfect retreat for unwinding.

Community Engagement and Environmental Advocacy

Since their inception, these central line facilities have actively promoted coexistence with the local community. Initiatives include regular cleaning activities and collaborations with local organizations aimed at enhancing community beauty and environmental awareness. They have established a culture where sauna visits serve as more than mere self-care moments, but as opportunities for social interaction and communal engagement.

This project represents just the beginning of their journey toward fostering a cycle of wellness that transitions from the individual to the community.

Join us for this enriching experience, contribute to our collective environmental health, and celebrate the joys of sauna culture. For media inquiries and participation details, please contact us at the email mentioned earlier.
